Sungrow SBR and SBH batteries: reliability and high performance

The SBR and SBH batteries from Sungrow are ideal storage solutions for residential installations and for small commercial and industrial systems.

Both series feature a modular and stackable design, allowing for easy capacity expansion and compatibility with different Sungrow hybrid inverters.

Sungrow – SBR battery

The high-voltage SBR series uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, with a capacity of 3.2 kWh per module, and can support from 3 and up to 8 modules per unit – except when paired with the SH-RS inverter, where the minimum number of modules is reduced to 2.

Thanks to the compact and lightweight design the installation process can be completed also by a single-person, facilitating integration into existing systems. SBR batteries also feature an IP55 protection rating, and an operating temperature range from 0 to 50°C. However, indoor installation in a dedicated technical room is always recommended.

Sungrow – SBH battery

The SBH series is designed for larger-scale applications. Each module offers 5 kWh of capacity and supports up to 50A of charge and discharge current. Each tower can be composed from 2 to 8 battery modules. It is possible to connect two towers in parallel.

These batteries are floor-mounted and offer 100% charge/discharge DOD.

Compatibility with Sungrow inverters

SBR batteries are compatible with the following hybrid inverters:

  • SH3.0-6.0RS for single-phase systems, allowing to connect to each inverter from 2 to 8 modules.
  • SH5.0-10RT and SH15-25T-V11 for three-phase systems, allowing to connect 3 to 8 modules per inverter.

SBH batteries, on the other hand, are compatible with the three-phase SH-T hybrid inverter and can be set up with one or two towers of up to 8 modules each. For the second tower, the addition of the Sungrow SBH-Y connector is required.

All three inverters feature a backup output and are designed for low-voltage grid connection. Only the SH15-25T-V11 inverter also comes with the CEI 0-16 compliance certification.
