SolarEdge: P1100 power optimizers now compatible with 600W Modules

SolarEdge has recently announced a significant update for the P1100 power optimizers. This update applies specifically to installations in Europe (including the UK) and the Caribbean.

The optimizers can now be connected to photovoltaic modules up to 600W, with a short circuit current (Isc) of up to 15A.

Requirements for the upgrade of the power optimizers P1100

It is important to specify that, for these updates to be implemented, the inverters must have a DC/AC ratio of 105% or higher, ensuring greater efficiency and performance. SolarEdge has also specified that this change applies only to P1100 models produced from the ninth week of 2022 onwards.

To correctly verify the production date, it is necessary to refer to the serial number of the optimizer. Specifically, if it was produced in the ninth week of 2022, the serial number will be formatted as follows: SJ0922A-xxxxxxxx.

Despite this update exceeding the optimizers’ nominal power and current limits, SolarEdge has guaranteed that this will not compromise the warranty of the power optimizers or inverters. This update provides installers with greater flexibility without compromising the safety or quality of SolarEdge solutions.

Finally, a crucial requirement for this update is that the installation site must be connected to SolarEdge monitoring. This allows for continuous performance supervision, ensuring optimal operation over time.
