The hydronic heat pumps from Mitsubishi Electric are a well-established and efficient solution for both heating and cooling of environments. Thanks to advanced technologies, these systems deliver high performance and energy savings.
Let’s take a closer look at the models available at VP Solar.
Mitsubishi Hydrotank: reversible hydronic module

The reversible Hydrotank hydronic modules are “all-in-one” units that incorporate a 200 or 300-liter storage tank. They can independently manage heating, domestic hot water production, and, thanks to their reversible function, also cooling of indoor environments.
The compact design allows the unit to be installed in small spaces or closets. Additionally, all key components are simply accessible by removing the front panel, making maintenance operations much easier.
The unit includes:
- a heat exchanger
- a storage tank
- two hydraulic circulators (primary and dhw)
- expansion vessel
- backup heating element
- safety components
Mitsubishi Ecodan: outdoor unit

These outdoor units are adaptable to all types of heating systems, thanks to a maximum flow temperature of 60°C, while maintaining high performance even in external temperatures as low as -20°C.
This series of outdoor units with Ecodan® R32 technology offers a seasonal energy efficiency rating of A+++ and a SCOP of up to 4.62 (at low flow temperatures).
Available in multiple sizes (4.0, 6.0, 7.5, and 11.2 kW), this single-phse heat-pumps can be paired with the small Hydrotank for lower capacitie, or with the medium Hydrotank for higher ones.
For what concerns cooling gasses, sizes from 4.0 to 7.5 kW use the R32, while the 11.2 kW size uses the R410A.
Mitsubishi Zubadan outdoor unit – Flash Injection Technology

The Zubadan series outdoor units, thanks to the Flash Injection technology, can maintain their nominal heating output down to -15°C and continue operating in temperatures as low as -28°C.
The Flash Injection system uses two specific components:
- a hic heat exchanger
- an injected-compressor to increase the volume of cooling gasses in the circuit
Traditional heat-pumps initiate defrost cycles even without ice buildup on the evaporation coil. Meanwhile, the integrated control system in Zubadan units accurately detects ice formation and delays cycle inversion, optimizing overall efficiency.
These heat pumps provide not only A+++ class heating and cooling, but also A+ class domestic hot water production. Other key features are: the compact dimensions, enhanced comfort, quieter operation (improved from previous versions), and also a reliable performance thanks to the capability of functioning with water temperatures up to 60°C and outdoor temperatures down to -7°C.
Mitsubishi Ecodan Packaged monobloc heat pump

The “Packaged” monobloc heat pumps are characterised by a simple installation, thanks to the possibility to connect to the indoor unit via hydraulic pipes. The cooling circuit is fully sealed within the outdoor unit, eliminating the need for operations on cooling gasses. For this reason, F-gas certification is not required for installation.
The R32 Ecodan Packaged heat pump from the PUZ-WM series consists of:
- an outdoor unit with an integrated gas/water heat exchanger for producing hot water for heating and domestic use, as well as chilled water for cooling
- an indoor hydronic module with integrated domestic hot water storage tank
FTC6 Control System
Mitsubishi systems are equipped with the new FTC6 control unit, which can be removed from the main unit and installed in various rooms of the home. Additionally, with the optional wireless controller, it is possible to measure room temperature remotely and send it to the main unit.
The backlit controller, featuring a large display, allows for easy adjustment of all operating parameters of the indoor unit.
