N-Type ABC technology from AIKO

AIKO drives innovation in the photovoltaic sector by introducing a new technology in their modules: N-Type All Black Contact (ABC).

Thanks to their avantgarde production processes and to the dedicated R&D team that has been working since 2009 to create increasingly efficient and sustainable solutions, AIKO has introduced a new generation of solar panels, promoting the energy transition and technological progress.

Development of N-Type ABC technology

  • 2016: the development of N-Type ABC technology is selected as the main focus for AIKO’s R&D team
  • 2021: first debut of N-Type All Black Contact technology, with cell-level efficiency reaching up to 26%
  • 2022: official launch of ABC photovoltaic modules, with module-level efficiency of 23.6%.
  • 2023: presentation of the bifacial (70%) modules from Stellar series featuring the N-Type ABC technology
  • 2024: achievement of module-level efficiency up to 24.6%, with the introduction of the Infinite bifacial series for efficiencies up to 25%.

The core of N-Type ABC technology

Greater absorption of sunlight is one of the key features of this technology: with connection points located on the back of the cell, the front surface remains unobstructed for light absorption, improving its efficiency.

AIKO’s photovoltaic modules offer:

  • High power output, with up to 10% more energy produced compared to modules with TOPCon technology
  • High efficiency thanks to better optimization under shading conditions, an improved temperature coefficient, and lower degradation rates (≤1%; ≤0.35%)
  • Safety: optimized resistance for both high temperatures and microcracks
