Huawei expands its product portfolio for home electric vehicles charging with the Smart Charger: a wallbox designed to offer a dynamic and flexible charging experience.
The wallbox is available in two versions: single-phase with a maximum power output of 7 kW and three-phase with a maximum power output of 22 kW. It optimizes the use of energy, including from photovoltaic systems.
Dynamic Charging
Huawei’s Smart Charger features a dynamic charging system that automatically adjusts the power output based on household electrical load, ensuring it doesn’t exceed the circuit breaker.
Thanks to a quick power adjustment mechanism, the system ensures faster response times (no tripping). Additionally, with the PV system’s Dongle, there is no need for a second meter, reducing both costs and space requirements.
Charging modes
Huawei’s Smart Charger offers three different charging modes to suit all needs:
- Normal charging: utilizes electricity from the grid, photovoltaic panels, or batteries, ensuring a high charging speed
- PV Power Preferred: optimizes the self-consumption of solar energy produced by the photovoltaic system
- Scheduled Charge: allows you to schedule charging based on energy tariffs
Authentication options are also flexible, allowing charging to be started via:
- Associated RFID card
- FusionSolar APP
- Bluetooth
With quick installation and easy maintenance, Huawei’s Smart Charger represents as an efficient and user-friendly solution for home electric vehicle charging.
PV + ESS + Smart Charger Solution
The Smart Charger receives data from the Smart Dongle WLAN/FE connected to the inverter through the Modbus TCP communication interface. From the app, you need to set the Modbus TCP parameter of the Smart Dongle WLAN/FE to “enable.”
To maximize the performance of the Smart Charger and Smart Dongle, they must be connected to the router via cables. If they are connected via WiFi, the dynamic charging function may be affected by unstable signals.
This solution can also be implemented in existing systems, but they must be equipped with compatible inverters:
- SUN2000-2-6KTL-L1
- SUN2000-8-10KTL-LC0
- SUN2000-3-10KTL-M1
- SUN2000-12-25KTL-MB0
Charger-Only Solution
If you decide to install only the Smart Charger without connecting it to a photovoltaic system, the “PV Power Preferred” charging function will not be supported.
